Opera meets Brass: a musical tribute to Clive Marshall

York Opera and the York Railway Institute Band are delighted to offer this joint concert in honour of our dear friend, Clive Marshall, who died at the age of 88 on 11 March 2025.  Clive was the ultimate all rounder - raconteur, wit, teacher, sportsman, set builder, and perhaps, above all, musician. He was a key member of both York RI band and York Opera as musician, director and leader and he is sadly missed. 

This concert offers a selection of some of our favourite pieces - solos, choruses and ensemble pieces from the York RI band and from York Opera. Pieces that we think Clive would have loved - and we hope you will as well!

All proceeds of the performance tonight will go to St Leonards Hospice.
