Mhairi Lawson Masterclass with York Opera soloists

York Opera is very proud to present a masterclass with the renowned Scottish Soprano, Mhairi Lawson. Mhairi has worked worldwide with companies such as English National Opera, New York City Opera and the Early Opera Company; has sung with the Halle Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Birmingham Symphony; and has a wide and varied discography.

Join us at Askham Village Hall as Mhairi puts York Opera's best singers - both seasoned principals and up and coming soloists - through their paces. Each singer has chosen a work to perform, and Mhairi will provide expert guidance on technique, dramatic interpretation and expression.  The event offers an inspiring and intimate afternoon of music and learning.

The masterclasses will run from 2.00 to 4.00 and from 5.00 to 7:00 and you are welcome to stay to enjoy as much of the session as you wish. This is a rare opportunity to witness and support a real showcase of local talent.
